Pippa has given Masterclasses in the Czech Republic, Africa, Russia, Spain, Italy, the Caribbean and the UK.
She was the first Western Opera singer to be invited to work with the Advanced Opera Singers at the Akademie in Prague, in the late 1990s. She was invited by the international conductor, Jiri Bélohlàvek and was subsequently invited back.
Pippa was a popular tutor at the highly regarded Dartington International Summer School for eighteen years, taking Masterclasses, workshops and performing formal recitals, concerts and many world premieres and has been a guest tutor for Sussex University and for University College, London.
As a young singer, whilst performing with the following companies, she also sang for the Education Departments of ETO, Opera North, Glyndebourne Festival Opera, ENO Baylis and the ROH.
Pippa is regularly asked to examine the BMus and MMus performance students at Trinity Laban, London and in addition, she has adjudicated competitions at the Royal College of Music, Trinity College of Music, London and for The Sussex Festival of Voice.
Her own teachers have included Sir Peter Pears, Elizabeth Schwarzkopf, Thomas Hampson, Renato Scotto, Birgitte Fassbaender, Birgit Nilsson and David Pollard, and her own repertoire has been particularly varied – from specialist Baroque, singing with conductors such as Roger Norrington and orchestras such as London Classical Players, Centro di Musica Antica, Roma through the Classical period (Donna Elvira, Fiordiligi) Italian Opera (Amelia, Santuzza) French Opera (Carmelites) German repertoire (Immolation, Waltraute, Marschallin) Czech repertoire (Katya, Jenufa) through to twentieth century and contemporary repertoire (Britten, Birtwistle, Tavener, Turnage).
She continues to give Masterclasses, most recently for the Cratoule Summer School in Provence and for Floral Opera, Covent Garden.
